Are you releiving hydraulic pressure in the lines first? If not, when you have the tractor positioned within the loader ready to mount, shut off the engine and then move the joystick back and forth and then side to side several times each to relieve pressure. Then connect the quick couplers. They should snap into place with little resistance.
